The handgun is traditionally a secondary weapon, but on today's everyday battlefield, the handgun is frequently our only weapon. Proficiency with it is a must, and a critical skill for a modern gunfighter.
Basic Handgun $145
Basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for safely and effectively owning and operating a handgun. This is an NRA Basic Pistol course.
Prerequisite: none
Required equipment:
- Handgun of any caliber
.22LR and revolvers are acceptable for this class - At least one magazine for semi-auto pistols
- 150 rounds of ammunition for your gun

Electronic ear protection is preferred, but not required.
Prescription eyeglasses and regular sunglasses are acceptable for eye protection.
Proper Dress:
Brimmed hat (ballcap, boonie hat, etc), long pants, and closed-toe shoes required
Defensive Handgun
$195
Combining skills in handgun manipulation and marksmanship, tactics in real-world scenarios, and survival mindset—this intensive, one-day course takes the student from shooter to gunfighter. Concepts include advanced manipulation, tactical movement, use of cover, and vehicle-based operations.
Prerequisite: While we suggest our Basic Handgun course, students can enroll in Defensive Handgun with a basic understanding of handgun safety and function. At instructor's discretion, students may be tested before participating; shooters will be expected to safely load, unload, and fire their handgun without coaching.
Required equipment:
- Semi-auto handgun of any caliber

- Outside waistband hip holster and magazine holder for at least one mag
- 400 rounds of ammunition for your gun

* .22LR handguns may be used where noted, provided that their function is analogous to their full-size counterparts.
Models that are acceptable include: Walther P22, Ruger SR22, Sig Mosquito, Smith & Wesson M&P 22, and conversion kits or full-size 22 replicas.
Unacceptable models are those with barrels that are not shrouded by the slide. These include: Ruger Mark series, Browning Buckmark, Smith & Wesson 22a, etc.
